• Miss Kathleen Robinson, a daughter of Mr.'Matthew Robinson,; a station owner, of Wyalong, Australia, is the chief figure in a- philanthropic venture, which is designed to bring the drama presented according to West End standards to the people of the East of London. Miss Robinson has'been appointed theatrical director of the People's Palace. She said that she first went to England in 1930, studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and after that had an eighteen months' tour of Australia and New Zealand in the Dame Sybil Thorndike's company. She returned to England in 1933, and has worked on the London stage ever since ■ • At the People's Palace she will try to present first-class plays with firstclass professional casts.
