LAST WRESTLING ROUT

The last wrestling bout, under Union control, of the Wellington season, will fake place tonight al the Town Hall. And what a bout it. promises to be! "Jumping Joe" Savoldi and "Lofty" Blomfield will be lhe contestants. Both arc among lhe finest wrestlers to have competed in New Zealand, both are tremendously keen nnd capable, and both are out to end the season with a victory. Blomfield. throughout the season, has given striking evidence of his improvement as a wrestler and his qualifications now make bim one of the most difficult men in the country to defeat. Perhaps one reason is that he is remarkably courageous and always willing to absorb punishment before taking a hand himself. If he succeeds tonight in clapping his particular octopus clamp on Savoldi. the former world's champion will find it difficult not to admit that he has had enough. Blomfield's task of applying the terrifically punishing hold nevertheless will keep him busy, for Savoldi is one of the fastest wrestlers to have visited New Zealand and there are very few holds he cannot escape. Both are colourful wrestlers, nnd the opportunity of watching a season which has been full of excitement end on the right note is too good to miss.
