RESIDENTIAL NURSERY
A BUSY PERIOD
Mrs. L. O. H. Tripp presided over the executive meeting: of the Residential Nursery, Qwen Street.
The matron's report stated that the nursery had a very busy, period, and much appreciation was expressed at the number of gifts received. It was stated that: the committee regretted having to refuse so many children, but the accommodation had r been -taxed to the utmost. • ~ •:..- ■■ >■,■
A special vote of ■ appreciation was accorded to Mrs. Fyfe for raising a sum of money sufficient to-paint, paper, and redecorate the large playroom-,dining-room of the nursery. It was a great need, but the committee could not take the money from the general nursery fund to do the work, so Mrs. Fyfe's action was greatly appreciated.
Another hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mrs.. Petersen for initiating and carrying out so successfully the sick mothers'appeal.
The hon. treasurer (Miss Wiltshire) reported the -following donations for October and November:—Mrs. Jas. McKenzie, £1: Mrs. Paterson (York Bay) and Lyall Bay Branch W.N.R., £2 10s each; Island Bay,.£B 2s 6d; Lower Hutt, £B;Seatouh £8; Orientalßay-Rosencath £11 10s; Wadestowh, £18; Khandallah, £12 10s.
