The bizarre case of a woman who masqueraded as a man far many years came to light at San Diego after tho death of Dr. Eugene C. Perkins, 67, at his home in suburban La Jolla. Dr. Perkins was known as a man in La Jolla during twelve years •of medical practice there. Six months ago the doctor's wife, Mrs. Margaret Curren Perkins, died in La Jolla. Dr. Perkins died of heart failure later, and the body was taken to a local mortuary. On the official death certificate! Dr. Perkins's sex was first marked "male." Later, however, after examination of the body, the word "male^ was crossed out and the word "female" written in red ink. Dr. Perkins, a native of Buffalo, N.Y., was married twenty-eight years ago in Florida, it was reported. • -
