-ESPERANTO CLUB

The n/eekly meeting of the Wellington Esperanto Club was held last evening., Mr. V. J. Leek presided. Correspondence was received from England, Wiiles. European countries, and Egypt. Mr. B. Potts announced the results of the club's intermediate examii nation. Fifteen candidates had success- \ fully reat'hed the required standard, ' shaven of Tthem with distinction. The ojriginal essay had revealed many |p/apers of (outstanding merit.

The second part of the evening was a ""surprise" presented in Esperanto ;by a small party of this year's students, under the direction of IV.tr. G. Blohg. The sketch, entitled "lla Radio-JSrogramo" centred round" a wjorld-range' wireless set (operated by M(r. Blong), (through which many humoijous items were presented from the arttists behind the scenes. The operator managed* to tune in to "Esperantola nd" and hetar an amusing dialogue entitled "La Ir&ianeio Multe Demandas," presented by flfiiss Mildred Williams anfi. Mr. C. Tafomer. The theme was continued to introduce other varied itt-jms, by Mesdames Wells and Kirk, M Iss M. Campbell, and Messrs. Wells, Kitk, F. Mawhiabiey, and Toomer. The prcteramme was thoroughly enjoyed. The annjjal meeting will be held on Mtyiday evening.
