CANADIAN REJOINDER

OTTAWA, November. 28. The Prime Minister (Mr. Mackenzie King), in a statement on President Roosevelt's speech, says:—"lt is striking and momentous. Canadians^ heartily endorse the President's desire to maintain and establish the peace of the Americas. The encouragement of the peaceful progress of civilisation is not only noble but also necessary if civilisation is to be maintained. Any step to\ ensure the permanence of peace in any part of the world is a contribution to world peace. Co-operative effort to this end cannot be too Widely extended. Peace, like justice, is mankind's common concern and can be maintained only by common endeavour."
