Steady rain began to fall soon after 5 o'clock, causing an early abandonment of play. Old Collegians, 37 runs for one wicket, played Lancaster Park. West. Christchurch, playing Riccarton, were all out for 180 (Peake 51, Burton 53, Roberts three for 32). East Christchurch, playing Old Boys, scored 180 (Coupland 40, Graham four for 38). Sydenham, playing St. Albans, scored 205 (Butterfield 73, C. Oliver 53, Burtt four for 52). Dunedin. —Cricket matches were played in fine weather on wickets that had been affected by rain. Grange 236 (Toorney 33, Galland 55, Chettleborough 40, Dickinson six for 84) met Old Boys, 48 for none.
