CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.

After a declaration that it was his duty to impose a penalty that would be a deterrent to.others, his Honour. Mr. Justice Northcroft, in the Supreme Court today, imposed a fine of £25 and cancelled the driving licence 'of James Robert Pirie for three years.

Pirie had been found guilty of driving a car while in a state of intoxication and causing' bodily harm.
