HARD LABOUR

BROTHERS SENTENCED

GIRL PAT ADVENTURE

COMPLICITY IN THEFT

United Tress Association—By Electric Telogruph—Copyright. (Received October 23, 10.40 a.m.) LONDON, October 22. The Orsborne brothers were found guilty of complicity in stealing the trawler Girl Pat. George Orsborne was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment and James Orsborne to twelve months' imprisonment, each with hard labour.

Mr. Justice Singleton, in summing up, said: "It does not necessarily mean that a managing director or anyone else would seek to cast a ship, away because it was mortgaged. Can you see the slightest foundation for that charge against Moore? Things would come to a pretty pass if one in Moore's position was willing to persuade a captain to scuttle a ship for the sake of money from the underwriters."
