, The eighth and semi-final return in the "Literary Digest" poll shows President Roosevelt cutting into Mr. A. M. Landon's majority as a result of increased returns .in metropolitan centres.

Mr. Landon's popular vote now totals 1,182,307, carrying 32 States with 370 electoral votes. President RooseveJt's vote is 878,526, carrying 16 States with 161 electoral votes.
