NEW YORK, October 21,

The Ottawa correspondent of the "New York Times" reports that he has received information that the Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. W. L. Mackenzie King, who is now in London, has outlined plans to the British authorities for enlarging Canada's fleet and developing a strong air force. It is a strictly national scheme, which calls for a possible enlargement of coastal armaments, submarines, fast destroyers, and possibly a few cruisers, but no battleships. '•

The new plans, which will place chief reliance on a greatly enlarged air force, are expected to increase Canada's defence buflget to 50,000,00O~\dollars. - .1
