"BENEFICIAL EFFECT"
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Qctober 20. The following motion ;Vas. carried unanimously by a meetings of members of the Otago branch of the, Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants of New Zealand:— . y"That this meeting of; the Otago branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants desires to place on record its appreciation, of the GovernIment in so quickly putting", into effect fits policy of advanced social and industrial legislation. Such measures have already inspired confidence, in the cbuntry, and are having a beneficial^ effect on the community as a whole."
