CLERICAL WORKERS' DISPUTE

The Customs and forwarding agents section .of the Wellington clerical workers' dispute again came before the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr. M. J. Reardon) yesterday.

It was stated by Mr. W. J. Mountjoy, agent for the employers, that it had been agreed that the section should be merged.in the general award, and that the question of hours should be referred to the Court of Arbitration. The application was for a new award and there was nothing that could be taken as a guide. It was a matter, he submitted, that the, Court should adjudicate upon.

The Commissioner agreed, and said he hoped that the Court, would come to a decision agreeable to all parties.
