N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS

TOURNEY OPENS TOMORROW

DUNEDIN, This Day.

Thirty-nine players will contest the championship at the New Zealand women's golf tourney commencing at Balmacewen tomorrow. These include Misses Jean Horwell (Timam), .and Valmai Fleming (Christchufch), twoof the New Zealand team that played in Australia, but the other ■ two, Miss Oliver Kay and Mrs. Fullerton-Smith, are not participating.

Entries for, the championship are confined to players with a handicap of 10 or under, and_Jthere_wttl be no qualifying rounds. The first round of the singles commences oh Friday morning.

The tournament opens tomorrow with the inter-island championship, the participants being the eight lowest handicap players in each island!
