FOUND DEAD ON ROAD
HIT-AND-RUN VICTIM ?
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
WHAKATANE, October 20.
The body of Augustus Frederick Lipston Moore, aged 56, married, an employee of Wright, Stephenson, and Company, Ltd., was found on the roadside at Poroporo last night with a bicycle nearby. The body was taken to the morgue and an examination showed only minor external injuries. A post-mortem today revealed extensive internal injuries which caused instantaneous death, and point to the belief that Mr. Moore was hit by a passing vehicle. An inquest was opened this afternoon, and after evidence of identification, was adjourned sine die.
