FLYING-OFFICER BUCKERIDGE

! Flying-Officer J. M. Buckeridge, pilot-instructor of the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aero Club for the past five years, has been appointed Deputy-Con-troller of Civil Aviation and expects to take up his new duties about November 22.
At last night's meeting of the committee of the club Flying-Officer Buckeridge's resignation was accepted with [regret. The acting-president, Mr. N. G. F. Whiteman, who paid a warm tribute to the services rendered to the club by Flying-Officer Buckeridge, said that pilots trained by him had won practically every trophy that could be won in New Zealand aviation.
Mr. E. F. Barton supported Mr. Whiteman's remarks, and it- was decided to place on record the club's appreciation of the sterling services to the club of Flying-Officer Buckeridge, both as an instructor and an administrator, 'and to congratulate him on his promotion and wish him every success.
