SIEGMUND IS VERY GREEN
Though the three-year-old Siegmund won his two races so well at Masterton last week he still ran as green as grass. On the first day he had his eyes looking everywhere except straight ahead when challenging Sunee; and on the second day he was jumping shadows at nearly every furlong and' finally shied at the winning post. It may be said that Siegmund had poor opposition to beat last week, but the horse he downed on the first day was Sunee, who won the principal event at the meeting on the second day, and though a maiden he was in receipt of only 21b over a stone and a half froni his open-class rival. Siegmund is a handsome gelding, standing sixteen and a half hands and symmetrically conformed, and he is a horse whose, future might be anything once he settles down seriously to his job. He is to have his next race in the Trentham Stakes on Saturday, when P. Burgess will again be his guiding hand.
