United Press Association—By Electric; Telei" graph—Copyright. 1 (Received October 20, 9.20 a.m.) * PARIS, October 19. Speaking at Orleans, the Prime Minister, M. Blum, threatened to resign and go to the country if the , Radicals deserted him. t 5He added that political honour pre--7 vented his governing on any other basis r than that of the Popular Front. He j fully realised that problems ,were dis--1 turbing his more moderate supporters, t especially the prevalence of strikes. x Nevertheless, repressive action against , the workers would deal a mortal blow at democratic government. M. Blum similarly warned the Com- ' munists to temper their extremism, as 1 the' middle classes were becoming irri--3 tated and alarmed. The Government's " intense social and economic changes 5 necessitated a period of stability.
