RARE NATIVE BIRDS

Sir,—The publicity given the appearance of a stitchbird on the mainland is, no doubt, very, encouraging to the many who have a regard for our native birds, but the fact that the precise locality where rare native birds, plants, and animals are seen ■is given, despite past protests, sends a cold shudder down the spine of many a Nature-lover who knows full well the encouragement thus given to the everpresent illegal collector.—l am, etc..
