TRAFFIC OFFENCES
Offences against the traffic regulations were dealt with in the Magistrate's Court today by Mr. H. P. Lawry, S.M. For leaving his motor-car insecurely parked in. Colombo: Street, James Middleton was fined £i and costs. Pleading guilty to negligent, driving in Featherston Street on September" 9, Tasman George Murfltt was fined £1 and costs. .. > A fine of £3 and costs was imposed on Joseph Percival Bowker for driving in Manners Street in a manner that might have been dangerous on September 19. "'.'.. Pleading guilty to driving a motortruck negligently in Wakefield Street on September 22, George Charles Dudley Payne was fined 30s and costs. For negligently driving a taxi in Courtenay Place on September 27, Godfrey Meryyn Austin was fined 10s and costs. Failure to sound a warning device cost Violet Booth Hutchison 5s and costs. . ■.'■■■■•.. . .. ; William Robertson was fined £1 and costs on one charge of driving without a licence, and 10s and costs on a second charge. Trevor Gilbert Welling was fined £1 and costs, and Kenneth Allan Cometti; James Harris; and John Hayfield were each.fined 10s and costs for a similar offence. . , ■ Driving vehicles with insufficient lights cost Meryl Lesbia Cbgle and Philip John McGowan each 5s and costs, and Arthur John Hyder and Marius Petersen £ 1 and costs. Norman Victor Wotton was fined 5s and costs for committing a breach of the parking regulations. Gerald Bedfield Bradshaw was convicted and ordered to pay costs. A fine of 10s and costs was imposed on Aubrey Schloss. Arthur William Moar was fined 10s and costs for driving without a licence, and was convicted and ordered to pay costs for a breach of the parking regulations. For driving a motor-cycle without, a licence, Raymond Williams was fined £1 and costs, and for having insufficient lights he was fined 10s and costs. . For carrying more than the registered' number of passengers in the bus of which he was driver, George Stewart Cuttle was fined £2 and costs. A fine of £5 and costs was imposed on James Heron for exceeding the licensed load on his truck. Hardy's Transport Co., Ltd., was fined £3 and costs for exceeding the load limit on a classified road.
