SMALL-BORE RIFLE SHOOTING
SEASON'S AGGREGATE
EVENING WITH NAVAL MEN
The season's aggregato resulted in a win for JR. H. Nicholl (Harbour Board) with the fine score of 840 ex SSO, with F. Field (Public Service) only one point less. This is the only success that Wellington riflemen have had in any of the competitions conducted by the N.Z.M.R.A. this season and these two niembers are to be congratulated on their success. A very enjoyable evening was • spent last '.Chursday, the occasion being a 1 friendly match between the No. 1 and No. 2 teams. Davies, last year's winner* with a score of 1167 (1200), average 97.25. The runner-up was F. Davies, 1140. The B grade championship was won by P.1 Harrison, 1075, with R. Wooldrldge , 1072, runner-up. Both are flrst-year shots. The A. grade aggregate was won by J. JR. Daviea 1376 (1430), with ¥. Davies, 13a5, runner-up. The B grade aggregate was won by it Wooldridge, 1284, with P. Harrison, 1277, runner-up. The handicap aggregate was won by F. Davies, 1400 (1430). Tht monthly competitions were won as follows:—April, .T. R. Davies; May, F. Davies, runner-up, J. R. Davies; June, G. Collins, run-aer-up A. Henderson; July, J. R. Davies, runner-up F. Davies; August, M. Parrant; run-ner-up R. Wooldridge; September, Em Parrant, runner-up P. Harrison. The flrst October weekly competition was won by Eric Henderson, with C. Bunning runner-up. The second resulted In a tie between Phil Winnie and C. Bullen, each 69, and will be shot again ott Thursday. The club closes its shooting for the 1936 ■season on October 29, and on November 11 will hold the concluding social and dance, with the presentation of trophies. This will be in the Petone Central Bowling Club's pavilion. . HUTT CLUB. An Interesting shoot took place on the Hutt range last Wednesday evening when a -team of elgbVtlflemen of th« Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, under the- Command of Petty ;9n« r Erackenrldge, met in a friendly shoot with .the Hutt Club; Two matches of'five shots each were flred, using miniature target rifles, and service rifles without slings. Tho service match was keenly contested. The proceedings ended in-a win'for Hutt. Able Seaman Bramwell and Ord. Seaman Raridall flred their club mVteH without tho «se t of sings, and these two men demonstrated their skill amarksmen by being top scorers for. their team.
