ROSE DAY APPEAL
The Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association has been granted permission to hold a street appeal for Rose Day on November 6. The sale of roses once a year has always helped the association to assist former soldiers and sailors who are in hospital, and 20,000 roses, which have been made by helpers, some of whom have made roses ever since Rose Day was inaugurated in 1922, will be offered for sale.
