BIRTHDAY PARTY

It was a very happy occasion when the'members pf the Upper Hutt "Women's Institute ' and - their friends met in the Record Hall recently to celebrate the institute's fourth birthday. Mrs. Griffin, president, welcomed those present, including representatives from several' other institutes.

The birthday cake, bearing four candles and decorated with the institute's floral emblem, the kowhai, was cut by Mrs. Rogers, a former president.

The drama circle contributed a play, and Mr. Jackson sang. Dancing and competitions caused much merriment, and a delicious home-made supper added another important item to^.j^eiy [jenjosablQ arotgrammfii v - ~ ~
