CARE OF PERAMBULATORS
Perambulators should be given a little attention in the hot weather (states the "Manchester Guardian"). Constant exposure to sunlight makes the hood liable to crack. It- should" always be stretched tight when not in use. Never put furniture polish on the hood: it can be kept clean by being wiped with a damp washleather. Rub with a little olive oil about once a fortnight, and apply a coat of hood paint once or twice a year. Leather, seat, and cushions can be polished with furniture cream. When the leather is worn apply white of egg, and., when dry polish with linseed oil. Straps and enamelled parts should be rubbed with olive oil now and again. The wheel axles should be kept well piled. Unscrew the caps on the hubs occasionally and insert plenty of vaseline. Chromium-plating fittings should not be polished; an occasional rub with olive oil is all they need. Always wipe a perambulator dry when it has been wet. If it is to be stored for some time smear vaseline on enamelled parts, mudguards, wheels, and elated fittings.
