AUCKLAND, October 19.

The Dargaville Racing Club's Annual Meeting concluded at Avondale today in fine weather. There was a good attendance, and the track was in excellent'order. The totalisatcr handled £18,923, against £10,232 on the second day last year, an increase of £8691. The total for the meeting was £46,285, compared with £27,351 10s last year, an increase of £18,933 10s. AIRAM AGAIN. Airam repeated her first day's form by capturing the Juvenile Handicap. The field went away to a walk-in start. White Foam was first away, but ran of! crossing the top, and Feldberg led Airam into the straight, the latter taking charge and winning easily from Bachelor King, British Nation, and Raceline, who were in line. Bachelor King did not run up to his Ellerslie form. McTAVISH'S THIRD. Haputale, bracketed with Spearcourt, gave R. McTavish his third win at the meeting in the Hore Hore Handicap, and the win dividend was just below double figures Palu'stre. and Haputale, on the inside, were the first away, and they led to the turn, where Strathire and King Theo were handy. Palustre weakened near the post, Haputale scoring nicely from King Theo, Palustre, and Strathire.' Erndale, Morning Sun, Royal Passage,, and Tip Toes were next. This- was JHaputale's first win, but in another few strides King Theo would have caught him. Tip" Toes ran a good race after being in the ruck most of the way. MODERATE LOT. Alluminagh beat a moderate lot in the Kirikopuni Hack .Hurdles. Along the back Royal Toast, Hawthorn, and Tuaheahe were on terms, when the last-named lost his rider at the five furlongs, bringing down Ruling King. I Then Hawthorn, pulled . up; having broken down. Royal Toast was- several lengths clear then, but he tired badly, and Illuminagh, All Irish, and Lap Up ran past him to finish in. that order. Benighted fell at the last fence when he was a bare possibility for third. Illuminagh gave his trainerjockey, J. ' ' '.. ./ Paso Robtes justified his favouritism by defeating Surella and. Lady Diana in, the Omana Hack Handicap after a close finish. Marjory Daw began best, and then allowed Surella to go to the front, the latter being clear at the home turn from .a bunch comprising Valamito, Lady Diana, Marjory Daw, and Paso Robles. , The last-named got the best run in ■a. ,'cl.bse" finish, with Lady Diana"'.finishing''fast a head, behind Surella.. There was. a gap back to Valamito, Waitaka, and Marjory Daw. It was not a good field Surella had every chance, but he is not solid. GAY TALKIE JUST FAILS. * There was a wonderful finish in the President's Handicap. Orac made play at a slow pace from Crooning, Tybalt, Gay Talkie, and Silver Brier^..to the home turn, where Gay Talkie had run up to third. Several were in. line at the distance, where Gay Talkie and Tybalt seemed to hold a slight advantage, but in the last few strides Silver Brier and then Crooning came at Gay Talkie, Crooning winning by a head from Gay Talkie, who was a head in front of Silver Brier. A length away were Tybalt, Knight of Australia, and King Tut in line, the last-named pair being slow away. It looked as if Crooning's final effort caught Gay Talkie's rider on the hop, for the three-year-old was again doing best of the placed division at the post.;' •;-,- . . .-.-.*.■,- ALL THE WAY. Tray Bit led nearly all the way in the Ruawai Handicap, and'he; made an exhibition of his field, winning in a canter. There was a good tussle for second, Blue Needle nosing Lady Ruler out on the post. Princess Star and Tin Lap.were next. Sebrof bled and was pulled up. Lady Ruler was tried in behind, and she finished more.'generously than in her recent outings. TRIUNE EASILY. 'Whakapara. and. Nun Nicei* carried on the running to the turn in the Waihue Handicap, and soon had the field well strung out, with High Tea a dozen lengths away from the pacemakers at the half-mile. Triune.joined the leading pair at the distance and he then went on to win very; easily from the little-fancied Whakapara, who was having his first race for some time. High Tea deprived Nun Nicer of third money. Lucidus and Roman Mascot were next at intervals; -The winner outclassed the field, and he may be a Stewards' Handicap possibility. ■ High Tea was very badly ridden, and it was extraordinary'that he"should have been kept so far out of the contest. TUTOR'S FAST RUN; ■ Mainland looked all over a winner in the Hoanga Hack Handicap, but Tutor came fast and deprived her of the honour to pay a fine price. High Quality, who tailed the field early, came home with a powerful effort for a close fourth, just behind. Valpai, and Lornacre, who started from wide out, weakened only in the final fifty yards. It was a. thrilling finish to a fine meeting. RESULTS IN DETAIL.
