MONTEITH'S BREWERY
A recommendation that the company be wound up voluntarily is made by the directors of Mpnteith's Phoenix Brewery, Limited, in the annual report for presentation at the general meeting of shareholders in Reefton on October 28, states a Christchurch exchange. The company's interests, the report sets out, having been merged in Westland Breweries, Limited, its functions are. restricted to those of a holding company. It is. proposed to recommend payment of the usual dividend of 6 per cent, for the year, involving £390. The winding-up of the company will mean that its shareholding in Westland Breweries, Limited (6500 shares) will be distributed among the shareholders in Monteith's in the proportion of one Westland Brewery share to two Monteith's shares. In addition, the cash assets Of the company will be distributed among, shareholders pro rata to their holdings. All the assets of the company have been realised, and the company's liquidation can be speedily carried out after the necessary resolutions have been carried. ■ ■..•..-• •
