The second-of the rail-cars for service on the Midland line to the West Coast- made a fast trial run from Christchurcli to Greymouth and back on Friday, and will t^ake over the Christchurch-Greymouth run this morning. '.••■'.. , • Engine trouble on one of the railcars from the Masterton races on Saturday resulted in its being taken off, and its pasesngers. due to leave at 5.25 p.m., were conveyed by the steam train which left at 5.38 p.m. Some hours after the arrival of the train the railcar reached Wellington.
