Samples taken from east•ern section of SunbeanrLode: the true average sample assayed £7 15s 4d per ton. The recovery'was at "tne rate of. I 90.23 per cent. or. .£7..15. 4d. per ton. The loss in the residue was at the rate of 9.77 per cent, or 14s per ton. The processes involved in the test included flotation by aeration without the aid of reagents; the concentrate was 5 per cent, of the total ore treated and assayed £141 6s 9d per ton. TALISMAN DUBBO REPORT. Talisman Dubbo, Karangahake, reports for the period ended October 3: Dubbo level—Stoping: The average value of the ore broken in the stopes from 290 ft to 400 ft north at 190 ft above the level was very good average width of 9in. The western branch of the lode 63ft above the level at 620 ft north has been extended to 50ft south-west of the main lode. The value of the ore obtained was very good, width 18in. On the main level this branch is 6in wide, of very good value. Driving will later be resumed at this point. Talisman No. 1 level—Stoping: In the stopes 20ft below the Dubbo level, the average value of the ore sent for treatment was very good. The lode from the main rise to 90ft south varies from 4in to 13in in width. Talisman No. 2 level—The drive south advanced 25ft. total 875 ft on low values. Stoping at 790 ft south the lode averages 33in in width, of good value. At 776 ft south the lode in the stope is 6ft wide. On the footwall side 4ft assays good values, and on the hanging wall 2ft is also good value. ' . GOLD FROM FIJI. The returns published by the Comptroller of Customs, Fiji, show that for the first six months of this year the export of gold bullion from Fiji totalled 75240z, valued at £57,972, compared with 1805oz, valued at £14,262. in the corresponding period of last year. This is an increase of 57190z, or £43,710. As far as can be ascertained the exports for the second half of the year, were estimated at about 1250 oz a month,, so that the total yield in 1936 should exceed £100,000. The Auckland "Herald's" Suva correspondent states that with the large additions and improvements which are being made to the Emperor mill and the anticipated erection of the Loloma mill, it is considered in some quarters that, from June of next year, exports of bullion will be in the neighbourhood of 6000oz a month. Also airways between Nos. 2 and 3 levels are under repair. No. 4 level: Centre stope—The reef has split, one branch running into the hangwall which has reduced the supply of stone for the period.
