The twenty-fifth anniversary, of the opening of the Roseneath Presbyterian Church was celebrated over the weekend. On Saturday evening. a congregational social was' held in the-'Church Hall. The Rev. A. A. Armstrong, o? Seatoun, moderator of the' .'charge, presided over a large.gathering. Greetings were conveyed by the Rev. D. M. Hercus, Moderator.-of the Wellington Presbyter}', and. by .the. Rev.' W. Gilenour, on behalf of the Kent Terrace congregation. Messages .Were' .received from the Rev. L.G. B. Whiteliead and Messrs. Cameron 'and Lilly,- forme;." home-missioners in charge of" the church, from Miss Douglas, daughter b£ the -fivst minister, the Rev. W: Dqug,lns, and from Mr&.Todd, "widow of the late Rev. During the 'evening a .presentation was made to Miss Margret ,:Lpw, who has been organist of the church since its foundation. . , • . :„. . ,
'Yesterday special services, were, held. In the morning ; the. Rev./. R;. Ingli.% M.A., conducted the service. ;: In: the afternoon, the Sunday school scholars were, addressed .by the Re.v.r.G: Carpenter. A Bible class, tea was.held,ac 5 p.m. and the evening service was conducted by the Reiv. JV A; Asher,: B.A. The accommodation of the church at the evening service was fully, taxed. The. soloists at the morning .servica were Mrs. Wiltshire and; Miss Low. and at the evening service Mfs. Cole* brook and Mr. Eric 'Rishwpf thvy''
