WHARF LABOUR

NON-UNIONISTS' REQUEST

The non-union section of the workers on the Wellington waterfront ; held a general meeting today when it was decided to ask the Waterside Workers' Union for a conference.

After a discussion the following resolution was carried "unanimously:—

''That this meeting, fully representative of the rion-uhioh labour seeking employment on the wharf, being desirous of maintaining the maximum of unity and co-operation both with the union and the Government, is of the opinion that this' objective could best be gained by the calling of a conference between the union executive and our representatives at the earliest possible moment, to discuss the points at issue, so that we can better understand each other's point of view."
