PETONE CLUB
The Petone Homing Pigeon Club flew a flock race on Saturday from Frankton, an airline distance of 239J miles. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster, who advised that the .weather was fine, with a light southerly wind. The birds evidently had a head wind, all the way as they were nearly seven hours on the wing..' The following were the results: —J. Bolton and Son's Sunny (velocity 1063.6),, 1; W. Asplett's Royal Summit (1063.3), 2; G; Woodward and Son's War Lady (1062:7), 3; A. Drain and Son's 8.8.C. (1062.5), 4; C. Culshaw's 8.8.C. (1055), 5; R. Clark and Son's Winning Hit (1053), 6; W. Whittington and Son's B.C.P.C. ' (1050), 7; Mr. G. Erikson's 8.8.C. (1045), 8. Next week's events will be a two^bird flock race for' yearlings. only from Frankton, and a flock race from Culverden. : - '
