THE KING'S LIFE

FLYING RISK BASIS

LLOYDS' BUSINESS

• (Received October 17, 9.50 a.m.) LONDON, October 16. . The "Daily Telegraph's" gossip writer says that the approach of the Coronation is causing a good deal of business for Lloyds in insurances on the King's life. For the coming year the rate of premium is 2 per cent. This is the normal actuarial rate for a healthy man of 52, whereas the King is 42 years of age. The reason for the" higher rate is not the additional risk the King is likely, to run in virtue of his office, ,but. merely because his Majesty flies. Lloyds always add ten years to the lives of air-minded persons, for insurance purposes.
