D.C.L. CUP TOURNEY

The annual golf field day of the Wellington Working Men's Club was held at the Mornington links on Wednesday, when the D.C.L. Cup, presented by Messrs. Hardwicke and Robertson, both of whom were present, was competed for. A field of thirty players'was entered and a close and interesting' competition resulted. Glorious weather was a contributing factor to a most enjoyable day's golf. ' ' /The competition was over 18 holes and the following were the leading ten scores:—W. Randall (30), 61; H. J. Shanks (16), 62; W. Kilby (24), 63; T. O'Kelly (11), 66; E. Cooper (12), 67; F. Hardwicke (20), 69; E. Day (18), 70; C. W. Lawton (32), 71; D. Stratmore (5); 71; B. Creagh (19), 72. Sealed handicap:—B. Kilby (8), 18; G. Old (9), 19;; D. Stratmore (2), 19.

A special sealed handicap prize was won by Mr. W. Kilby, and that for the most improved player went to M. G. Bitpssi.

At a ifathering at the nineteenth hole; presided over by the club's president, Mr. J. A. G.. Mackay, thanks were expressed to the donors of prizes and Mr. Frank Hardwicke presented the. cup to the successful competitor, Mr. Randall, who suitably responded.
