TOMORROW'S FORM HORSES

Form at the Methven Meeting last week will be the main guide to prospects at the New Brighton Trotting Club's Meeting tomorrow, and Reporter is likely to be the favourite for the principal two-mile event, the Walter Thompson Handicap. Village Guy, who outstayed Pot Luck on a heavy track at.the last New Brighton Meeting, will be Reporter's hardest opponent on form, but many will expect Pot Luck to take a turn for the better shortly. Several New Zealand Cup candidates are carded to race in the Avon Handicap, and the return to racing of Indianapolis and War Buoy will be one of the features of the meeting. Few will look to the back-markers to get up in a field of the size, and the favourites will probably include Graham Direct, War Buoy, arid Rey Spec. In the same event are Reporter, who would have an excellent chance if reserved, and Recess, who will be having her first race after a spell. ' Happy-Knight seems to have a good chance of making amends for recent defeats in the mile saddle event, and Fairhaven and Eighteen Carat are other Southlanders who' have shown real ability in saddle events. Derby candidates engaged in the Shirley Handicap are Southern Chief and Effle Parrish, and in the Sumner Handicap Parisienne. , There are prospects of better racing than usual in -the unhoppled trotters' events. Among the more solid of the contestants in the Innovation Handicap are Esther, Guy Hugo, and San Michele, and in the two-mile event, the New Brighton Handicap, Guy Hugo, Tyrone .Lass, Norman Fox, and Amonos. Win-and-place betting will be operated. The following horses are in likely form:— Innovation Handicap.—San Michele, Esther, and Guy Hugo. Shirley Handicap.—Southern Chief and Superior Rank. Walter Thompson Handicap.—Reporter, Village Guy, and Pot Luck. Sumner Handicap.—Parisienne and Sports Review. ~rAv2.n Handicap.—Graham Direct, War Buoy, and Rey Spec.
