DRAPERY PROFITS HIGHER.
The improvement of business generally in Australia was-shared in 'by David Jones, Ltd., Sydney, the wellknown soft goods company. A net profit of £ 146,148 was reported for the i year ended July 31, compared "with 1 £121776 the previous year,' and £109,163 for 1933-34. Ordinary dividend is unchanged at 10 per cent.,, anrj £25 000 has been transferred toTdserve, leaving £113,265 to be carried'forward, against £79.867 brought forward. The directors state that trading conditions remained satisfactory throughout the year, and the turnover reached a new high level in the history of tho company. The sum ot £10,000 was provided foe the" staff superannuation .fcuid.
