SHIP OWNERS APPEAL
Decision was reserved by the Court of Appeal yesterday afternoon in the case in which the Canadian Government Merchant .Marine, Ltd.; ship owners, appealed -against a judgment given by the Chief .Justice (Sir Michael Myers) who held that damages were recoverable by the Auto-Machine Manufacturing Co., .%Ad.,'. of thorndon ■Quay, from, the ship owners, because of the rusting and corrosion of 1541 coils of nailwire shipped from Halifax to Wellington '. by the Canadian Highlander early last yeaiv In his judgment the - Chief Justice said that the damage would not have occurred had the wire been differently stowed in the ship's'hold.
