SUPPLEMENTARY LIST

PRESENTED TO THE HOUSE

The Supplementary Estimates were introduced into the House, of Representatives by Governor-General's message yesterday afternoon.

Provision is made for £500 to cover the cost of the transfer of the High Commissioner (Mr. W. J. Jordan) to London, and there is a special retiring allowance of £ 1000 for Sir James Parr on account of his early retirement from the office. The sum of £600 is provided for the jubilee celebrations in New Zealand. There is a vote of £4500 for the travelling expenses of Ministers and Under-Secretaries and their wives: ■The cost of the visit of J. E. Lovelock to New Zealand is given as £175. An additional sum of £2700 is provided for the fees arid expenses of assessors attending Conciliation Council sittings.,: ■ •;■_■■ , , ■-. • • ;": . ■■ :■-. . The sum of £. 500 is provided for the expenses of electoral representation commissions. The widow-of the late' Mr. P. S. K. "There is a grant of £150 for the women's division of the New Zealand Farmers' Union. , •■ ■-. A v6te' of £20,000 is provided, for extra' engineering;' clerical, drafting, and office assistance in the Public Works Department.' There is a sum of £50,000 for. the Plimmerton « Paekakariki railway duplication. .-' :. ;.-: : ' ; ' The cost of'the Guaranteed Price Committee is provided for in a vote of £200. ' Provision is made for a vote of £10,000 for the purchase and maintenance of B class broadcasting stations.

There is a vote of £97 16s 6d to cover the cost of a tour of the South Island by Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Jordan.
