OBITUARY
HON. ARTHUR ELIOT

LONDON, October 8
The death has occurred of the Hon Arthur Ernest Henry Eliot, manage: and founder of Punch's Club. Job: which he undertook during his life lime included those of croupier, trarr conductor, steward, butler, stoker, end detective. He played .. cricket with W. G. Grace.
The Hon. Arthur Eliot was born ir 1874, a son of Lieutenant-Colonel the Hon. CG.'C. Eliot. He was educated or H.M.S. Britannia and at Charterhouse He enlisted for .the South African War. was promoted to captain, aid served in the European "War with commissioned rank, gaining . the Mons Modal with bar. For some time he acted with the late Sir Charles Wyndham, and latterly wps manager and lessee of tho Onara Comiauo Ther'.ve and the Globe Theatre. He on,ce calculated that he held 80 jobs in 60 years, Among his literary work .was part authorship of "The Better "Ole." ■
