THE MARINE DRIVE
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—As a visitor to Wellington last weekend, I decided to see some of Wellington's famed marine drive. There is no doubt that this drive around all those beautiful bays is something to be proud of. In fact, having travelled in many countries, I have never seen anything to equal it. There was only one drawback to a wonderful drive and that was the shocking state of the road between Miramar Wharf and Scorching Bay. This piece of road is disgraceful and that a road like this, leading to the Massey Memorial, one of Wellington's monuments, could get in such a state is a bad fault in those responsible. I was told a grader, goes over it occasionally and I am wondering how it does the trip without being lost. It certainly wants more than a grader over it.—l am, etc.,
