ESPERANTO CLUB
The weekly meeting of the Wellington Esperanto Club took place last Monday evening. Mr. Vernon J. Leek, D.8.E.A., presided. Correspondence was received from England, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Bulgaria,* Austria, Yugoslavia, Latvia, U.S.S.R., Canada, Mexico, and Honduras. The first part of the evening was devoted to tuition Satisfactory progress was reported. The senior members formed conversation, translation, and reading circles. In the programme period Mr G. Blong presented an origmal monologue entitled "La Kritikema Vagulo." Messrs. Henri W. Thorns and Joseph Thomas played guitar duets. The concluding item was an original Esperanto one-act play "La Povfekla Krimo" by the club secretary,' Mr. Anton Vogt the players being Miss Florence Bennett (stenographer), Mrs. P. M. Campbell (bookkeeper), Messrs. Vogt (the criminal), James Allan (the victim),- and Bertram Potts (the detective). A mock court will Lake place next week, j
