Queen Mary and the Princess Royal are not the only ladies of the Royal Family who will be occupied with needlework on their summer holidays. The Duchess of Gloucester has had prepared for her at the Royal School of Needlework a chair seat with a dragon design, and she intends to work this in brilliant scarlet and yellow, says "The Queen."

She and the Duke will be going tip to Balmoral to Abergeldie Mains, the modernised farmhouse on the estate thai the King has put at their disposal, but will be back again at. the Royal Pavilion by October, as the Duke does not get very long leave. His military duties are much more arduous than many people imagine.
