FINAL SESSION
MOTIONS OF APPRECIATION
The fourteenth Congress of" British Chambers of Commerce concluded last evening when the following resOlutibna were passed:— ,'..•.;;..•■■'',.;.
• "The delegates- assembled for the fourteenth Congress of the Chambers of Commerce of the British "Empire hereby express-to his Excellency the Governor-General, Viscount Galway, their ■ appreciation of the honour which he conferred upon'themy, and, through them upon the. comihercial communities of the Empire,.by inaugurating the Congress;' and warmly .thanlc him and Lady Galway for. the entertainment offered to them arid those accompanying them ■at Government House. They cordially wish' him continued success ■ in- the high : :'officeVt<» which he has' been called.'' ="■ '","i-j:-,:' r . "The members of the Qongress tender their grateful acknowledgments t» the Government of New. Zealand for all that has been done to- make, the visit to the Dominion a conspicuous success. They thank the. Prime- Minister, Mr. Savage, and other members of his Cabinet for the personalinterest manifested in the proceedings ■of the Congress, for the Government's hospitality on October 2, and lor the generous facilities to enable them, expeditiously and economically,-to see the pastoral and industrial districts of New Zealand and its wonderful natural features. They are confident that the contacts established - and to be established, and the knowledge gained, will tend towards a still greater development of business relations between New Zealand and' other parts of the Empire." , Resolutions were also passed.expressing the thanks of the delegates.to th« Mayor and Corporation of Wellington, the members and officers of the New Zealand Associated Chambers of Commerce, the president and members 01 the Wellington Chamber of Commerce, 'and the ladies' entertainment. , Amidst applause, the delegates recorded ■ their appreciation of the "ability, impartiality, and courtesy, with which the president, Viscount Elibank, conducted the proceedings.
