The Blackwate- -.'nes, Ltd.. return for the month of September is:—Crushed, 3664 tons, yielding 1308 fine ounces of gold from all sources, the value of which, taking gold at 137s a fine ounce, was £8962. Working expenses were £6453, leaving a working profit of £2509. Development expenditure was £992 and capital expenditure was £252 ' ' RIMU DREDGE. The Rimu dredge clean-up on October 5 was: 1244 hours' digging, 56,095 cubic yards, for 216 -crude ounces recovered. CENTRAL SHOTOVER. The Central Shotover Gold Mining Company had a wash-up during the weekend, when 120oz of gold was secured. This represents about four weeks' work, making a total of 800oz for the operations of the last thirteen m°nthS MATAKI JUNCTION. Mataki Junction, an Australian company operating in New Zealand, reported for the four weeks ended September 24 as follows:—Hours dredged, 112; cubic yards, 18,000; gold, ounces, 49; value, £335; working cost, £691. Dredging was resumed on September 3, after table; alterations, and there was a further stoppage from September 7 to September 22, owing to a mishap to the high-pressure pump.
