HEALTH CAMP.
LADIES' AUXILIARY
A meeting of the Health Camp ladies* auxiliary was held recently \ in St. John's Hall, Vivian Street, when Mrs. E. R. Myers presided. The secretary reported that the shop day held last month was a great sue^ cess, the sum realised being £7 10s. Grateful thanks were given to Mr. Wiggins for the use of a shop free, also to the ladies who so kindly sent so many goods for sale. As the number of children at the camp is steadily growing, the demand for bed linen, towels,, etc., is growing. The matron reported they, are now in need of 100 pairs of towels, 75 ptfirs of sheets, 100 pairs of pillow slips, two dozen tea towels,- one dozen roller towels, besides clothing for the children.
The auxiliary will hold a jumble sale on Friday next in the Empire Hall, Arthur Street. Parcels for the jumble sale will be gladly received. They could be left at Si John's Hall, or on request they could be collected. It is hoped there will be a good response to help raise funds for the camp which is doing such fine work. Mrs. Burnett kindly brought seven pairs of knitted socks for the camp. At the close of the meeting Mrs. M. H. Millar, honorary, secretary, entertained the ladies at afternoon tea.
