The Crooner and Laughing Chief were together just in front of Bluffer at the end of a three-furlong scamper, the time being 38 3-ssec. These youngsters are coming along nicely.

Patter and Black Fox have rejoined the active brigade and they were given a "pipe-opener" over three furlongs.

Miss Pango and Padnos galloped a mile. The first five furlongs took lmin lOsec and the full journey lmin 52 2-ssec. Miss Pango had an advantage in weight but she was galloping well throughout. W. J. McDowell will ride her in the steeplechase at Ellerslie. •

D. Mansfield, the lightweight attached to G. W. New's stable, sustained a fractured left arm on Monday when a two-year-old fell on him. It was after the morning work had been completed and Mansfield was riding the youngster back to the stable when he reared and fell back.
