MR. JOHN RANDAL

The death occurred recently at "Titchfield," Upper- Aramoho, of Mr. John Randal, an -early New Zealand settler. Born in' Islington, London, and subsequently a resident in Hampshire, Mr. Randal, with his wife and their eldest son, came out. to New Zealand in the ship Rodney in 1875 and settled in Wanganui, Mr. Randal, was well known.in.that town and district as a builder and contractor. In his younger days he took a .keen interest in music, and was a member of several musical societies. He was a life member of the Christ Church choir, and took part in many local productions of the "Messiah," "Creation," "Elijah," and other oratorios.

' The surviving members of the family are two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Whibley, Miss K. RandaL Messrs. F. J. Randal (Wanganui), W. Randal (Blenheim), and H. Randal (Wellington).
