CITY AERODROME
CHRISTCHURCH DECISION
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, October 5. A decision to, commence the construci tion of a city aerodrome at Harewood as soon as possible was made at a special meeting of the City Council tonight. The works committee was authorised to complete arrangements with the Government on the basis of the offer of a subsidy of £1 for £1 on t the labour cost of the formation.
According to a statement made by the Mayor the total cost to the council will be about £30,000. In addition it is estimated that the Government subsidy will be £6700.
