Already eighty-four teams have been entered for the Wellington Cricket Association's competitions, and there is a prospect of some late entries. At last night's meeting of the association's management committee at was stated that the total was the highest for some years. There are entries from nineteen clubs, as follows:—Midland 8. Institute 8, Kilbirnie 8, Karori 7, Hutt 7, Wellington 7, University 6, Wellington College Old Boys 5, Petone .4, Onslow 4, Technical Old Boys 4, Railways 3, Kaiwarra 3, Brooklyn 2, Johnsonville 2, Wellington , College. 2, V.M.C.A. 2, Petone East I, and Porirua
The numbers .of teams entered for the grades (subject, of course, to classification arc):—Senior 9, second 11, junior A* 11. junior Bl 10. junior B2 10, junior C 9, junior D 7, third 11, special 6. . . From replies received regarding the awardirig of points for matches in,the special grade, it -was apparent, said the chairman (Mr. J. H. P,hillipps) that the general wish was to proceed as.before, no points to be given, and a motion was carried accordingly. The Kilbirnie Club intimated that it had two enthusiasts willing to contribute towards a trophy for the grade if one were desired. 1 The affiliation of the Porirua (Hospital) Club was granted.
