Mr. V. F. B. Rogers, manager of the Dannevirke branch! of the National Bank of New Zealand, will retire at the end of the month because of ill health, and his place will be taken by Mr. W. Nairn, of the bank's audit staff. Mr. Rogers'joined the bank on arrival in New Zealand from London in 1903. For thirteen years'he was in the Wellington branch, then for seven years he was accountant at Palmerston North, and the rest of his thirty-three years' service was as manager at Dannevirke. Since a serious operation in March last Mr. Rogers has been in poor health,' and his condition at present is' a'cause of anxiety. The Rev. C. S. Matthews, who has been visiting England, will return to Wellington by the Rangitiki towards the end of the month.- : ■ Mr. W. R. Fee, chairman of the Auckland Cricket Association, was present at the meeting of the Wellington Cricket Association's management committee last night, and, on behalf of members, was welcomed by the chairman, Mr. J. H. Phillipps. Matters affecting the two associations were digcussed in committee. 'Mr. A. T. Donnelly has accepted the position of Wellington's delegate in Christchurch to the New Zealand Cricket Council. The Hon.. Eliot R. Davis, M.L.C. (Auckland), the Hon. John Alexander, M.L.C. (Auckland), the Hon. Harold A. Russell, M.L.C. (Hawke's Bay), Messrs. N. A. -Irons (Martinborough), M. Chambers (Havelock North), A. Lees- and J. B. Grant (Auckland) are guests at the Midland Hotel. Messrs. F. P. Chapman, J. J. Booth, and H. W. Buckell (Auckland), St. C. Ferguso- (Dunedin), B. Chrystall (Foxton), A. L. Low (Hastings), R. J. Robertson (Sydney), S. Gibson (Palmerston North), and P. R. Skelton (Taumarunui) are staying at the Royal Oak Hotel. Messrs. L.B. Clarkson (Sydney), A. W. Haines (Auckland), G. Trippner (Ruatapu), A. T. Walk's (Greymouth), A. O. Wilkinson and A. L. Cropp (Christchurch), J. Savoldi and G. H. Luke (Auckland), and F. W. Warrell (Melbourne) are guests at the Hotel St. George. Messrs. A. R. Hosking (Auckland), G. A. Beswick, K. P. Boak, and L. G. Landes (Napier), J. J. Fitzpatrick (Hastings), E. J. Douglas (Waihi), and H. Jenkins (Wanganui) are among the guests staying at the Empire Hotel. Messrs. Lan Donnelly (Christchurch), E. Kennelly, R. T. Simpson, and G. Black (Dunedin), H. Harris (Auckland), and H. G. MiJburn (Auckland) are among the guests at the Grand Hotel.
