MAKE A NEEDLE-CASE

(Original.)

You will need for this simple needle case a piece of canvas, three colours of wool (any left-over knitting wool will do), a piece of material for lining, and some pieces of flannel.

Cut your canvas square and work round outside in buttonhole stitch in first colour. Then begin working at the top in cross stitch, 'leaving'a space at the ends of each row. Then turn work upside down and repeat, working to the middle each time. Both of these are to be done in the same colour. Then turn the work sideways and fill in the spaces.. You might then work an N oh it. .Tack lining inside and fold the needle ;case. Nick the edges of the flannel and" sew inside the cover.

The original was worked in ■ blue, red, and white, but you_ could, of course, work it in any colours you find in your wool-bag. ; "AUSTIN B" (13). City. *
